Enrolment 2007 & New Kilts Dedication

Sunday 28th October, started out like any other Sunday morning. At approximately 10.30 the Pipes and Drums of The 25th Belfast Company, Boys' Brigade took to the road, to parade up to Onslow Gardens to collect the remainder of the company of boys. This Enrolment Parade was special due to it being the first outing for our new Kilts and Drums. These came about mainly from the Trustees of Bangor Caledonia Band, who generously donated to us, their surplus kilts and drums. The Tartan is Hunting Stewart of Appin, and may be seen in the pictures below. The Officers and Boys of our Company wish to express sincere thanks to all who have contributed to their new Kilts and Drums project, in particular Co Op Community Dividend Scheme and BT Staff Charity Fund for their generous grants.

The parade set off as usual from Onslow Gardens to walk the Cregagh Road to Cregagh Methodist Church.

A little further down the road the Anchor Boys joined us and we marched into a packed Church.

The Enrolment service started with singing led by the Praise Team, and then Lt. Laura Corbett welcomed the assembled masses of Mums Dads etc.

After the formal Enrolment part of the service, the new Kilts and Drums were dedicated. The Captains presentation followed and Mr Stephen Moore then spoke to the congregation.

After the service was over, we formed up at the back gates for our traditional march past the front of the Church.

Once again led by the Pipes and Drums we marched around to the Cregagh Road where our special guest, Rt.Hon The Lord Mayor, Councilor Jim Rodgers O.B.E. Honorary Vice President, Belfast Battalion, Boys' Brigade, was waiting to receive march past. Another highly successful enrolment service/parade for the 25th Belfast Company.
